Cameras

Canon EOS 400D with battery grip BG-E3Image via WikipediaWhat do you look for in a camera? What bothers you about the one you have currently? What is your dream camera?

Unfortunately for me, my main thing right now is price. I just cannot afford a high-quality, top of the line setup right now. I'd love one though. I'd even be happy with just a $600 Canon DSLR. That's right folks, I have a point and shoot. Lame isn't it?

Believe it or not, I'm quite happy with my P&S, although it doesn't do everything I would want it to do. I tend to take a lot of dusk photos, and while this one handles better then my old one, it still just isn't up to snuff. The limited amount of functionality bothers me too. At least I can change the ISO and exposure. The zoom isn't so great on it either, once you hit a certain point, forget about getting a clear picture. The LCD display doesn't hold up in low light, and it does not come with a viewfinder. Makes getting those later in the day/inside under lamp light pictures hard. Definitely does not do macro.

I have the Kodak EasyShare C813. I told you I was all about price!

Right now my dream camera is the Canon Rebel EOS xti or the Nikon D40. Both seem to have most of what I need and want, and is a relatively cheap way to break into the land of the DSLRs. As I said, relatively...with a $600-$800 pricetag. I'm saving up. It might take awhile. Though by the time I get the money, I might have just jumped on to something else. But as long as its in that price range, I should be good!
